Frequently Asked Questions
Are gig workers verified?
All gig workers must be identity verified by Stripe when registering as a gig worker. This adds an additional level of trust to our platform. Because we offer a reputation service, you can also see all historical work conducted by the worker. This quickly builds trust within the marketplace, but also removes fraudsters and scammers. Any behaviour that breaches our platform standards results in those worker being removed from our platform.
How do I know I will be paid for my gig?
Our leading payment provider will independently hold the money, for security and peace of mind for the gig worker, as well as a robust disputes policy and reducing fraud on the platform. Once you have completed the work, the gig lister will be notified and they will release payment once they are satisfied with the work completed, as outlined and agreed in the gig listing. For more information about pay in general, go to our Help Centre pay section
Why do I need to upload my passport or driving license?
You are uploading this information to Stripe, so they can validate you, which in turn builds trust for potential customers. This enhances the payment framework and yourself as a result, building another tier of trust and reputation inside our marketplace.
Do I need insurance to work a gig?
We would recommend you investigate Insurance depending on the relevant service offering.
We have consciously decided not to include insurance as a built in package for gig workers. As we believe this may not be relevant for every one.
But we have partnered with Abbots, as they embody our commitment to delivering the fairest service and fees. For more information about them go to our partners section.
Is there a set length or time limit to listing or completing a gig?
Yes, gigs must be completed before 90 days. The default behaviour is to release the funds after 90 days. If you believe your gig will take close to this time, we recommend breaking down the gig into smaller gigs.
