Know Your Customer (KYC)

Know Your Customer requirements

Gigexchange must comply with Stripes know your Customer regulations.

As summary of their requirements is below, as well as links to their site for more detail.

“Know Your Customer” (KYC) obligations require Stripe to collect and maintain information on all Stripe account holders. These requirements come from our regulators and financial partners, and are intended to prevent abuse of the financial system.

During the onboarding process you will be asked to complete the relevant fields.

Additional validation fields – why important?

We understand uploading scans of your passport or driving license is not as simple as completing all the other fields. So we allow you a grace period to upload them.

Please be aware that Stripe routinely flags accounts without all the required information. This can result in Stripe suspending payments to your account, until after the required fields are complete.

This adds an additional tier of validation and trust to the marketplace.

To become ID verified by Stripe for KYC, they may ask for 2 forms of ID.

Individuals
  1. Passport (front page only) or driving license (front and back page)
  2. Local bill with your name and address (front page only).

Business
  1. Passport front page or driving license (front and back page)
  2. Company ID. Bill with business name and address.

If your upload is not of sufficient quality, you will see the below error. We recommend proper colour scanned versions saved as jpg or png, rather than a photo of the ID

Also, if your name is different to the name on the document, you may experience issues - modify your name eg Tony -> Anthony

Stripe will initially ask for one form of identification to verify and valid your identity. It is possible they may ask for a second form, or that the identity you provided didnt meet their file type or quality requirements.

We shall highlight this on your profile to build trust within the platform
